Preparing Your Home for a Move-Out Cleaning

How tenants and homeowners in Miramichi can prep for a move-out clean so nothing gets missed.

What a move-out clean covers

A standard move-out clean from Helping Hands is top-to-bottom: kitchens (inside appliances, cupboards, drawers), bathrooms (tub, shower, toilet, vanity, mirrors), floors, baseboards, light fixtures, switch plates, and interior windows. Carpet shampoo and exterior windows are add-ons.

Before we arrive

A clean goes faster when the space is empty and the utilities are still on.

  • Have all personal items, boxes, and furniture removed
  • Keep electricity and water connected on cleaning day
  • Defrost the fridge/freezer the night before
  • Leave a key, lockbox code, or be on site to let us in
  • Flag any special spots (pet damage, mystery stains) up front

Common landlord deductions we prevent

Most damage deposit disputes are about cleanliness, not damage. The deductions we prevent most often:

  • Greasy oven, hood, and stovetop
  • Mineral buildup in shower and tub
  • Dusty baseboards and trim
  • Sticky kitchen cabinet interiors
  • Streaky mirrors and interior windows

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you guarantee the deposit will come back?

We can't guarantee a landlord's decision, but we can guarantee the space is landlord-ready when we leave. If something is flagged, we'll come back to address it.

  • How long does a move-out clean take?

Most apartments take 3–5 hours with our two-person crew. Whole houses run 5–8 hours. We quote in advance based on a quick walk-through or photos.

  • Do you bring supplies?

Yes — all cleaning products, microfibers, mops, and vacuums. You just provide access.
